Introductions
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that refers to the reason for being or the purpose of life. It helps you to find a balance between what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.
Objective
The object of IKIGAI is to use the concept to find your work/career path. It helps you with finding the work you find meaningful and pleasant.
Step 1: Answer the questions
- What do I enjoy doing?
- What are you’re strengths?
- What does the world need?
- What will you get paid for?
Step 2: put the answers in the diagram
Look at your answers, where do they fit?
Do the answers fit into many categories?
Step 3: Think about what you are good at
Your element is the intersect between what you are good at and what you enjoy to do. Finding a job or starting a business relation to that element is probably what would bring you the most satisfaction.
Write down: what is your ‘element’? and what job would suit my element?
Step 4: Combine everything
Based on the diagram you just filled out you should look specifically to the intersection between all four areas, these sections are your IKIGAI. These sections are the sections you should focus on when looking for a job.
Write down: What is my IKIGAI? and What jobs/businesses would match my IKIGAI?
